Designing alone drains you
You know the feeling. You’re doing good work, but there’s no one around to bounce ideas off, no one challenging your thinking, and no creative energy to feed off of. You’re just heads down, alone, hoping you’re headed in the right direction.
Most designers don’t have a creative director in their corner, and most online communities aren’t built to replace that. Thriveful is. It’s a community of designers who show up for each other, and Growth pods led by veteran Creative Directors who give you the kind of guidance you’d get inside a real agency.
Pods: your private critique crew
A pod is a small group of 5-8 designers who commit to giving each other regular, structured feedback. Think of it as a mastermind group for design critique.
You apply to join a pod or create your own. Set the discipline, skill level, and commitment cadence. Over time, your pod learns your work, your goals, and your style — so the feedback gets sharper the longer you’re in one.
Pod members can post work privately within the pod, chat in a dedicated pod chatroom, and build the kind of creative relationship that doesn’t happen in a public forum.
Growth Pods, Led by Veteran Creative Directors
Growth members get placed in a pod led by a veteran Creative Director who’s been vetted and certified by Thriveful. These aren’t coaches reading from a curriculum. They’re practicing CDs who give the kind of direction you’d get inside a real agency.
Each CD brings their own specialty (branding, UX, art direction) and runs a monthly live group critique for the pod. Between calls, they’re in the pod chatroom giving async feedback on your work. They also build a personalized growth plan for each member so the feedback ties to where you’re trying to go.
It’s the closest thing to having a senior creative lead in your corner without being at an agency.

Office hours, community nights, and a weekly rhythm
Thriveful isn’t just async feedback. Every week has a rhythm that keeps the community active and gives you reasons to show up.
Office Hours with a CCO
Weekly live sessions hosted by Kai Pham, CCO. Ask questions, get advice, and share work for real-time critique. Times alternate each week so members across all time zones get access at least twice a month.
Community Nights
Casual hangouts where the focus isn’t work. Meet other designers, make real connections, share stories. The relationships you build here make the feedback everywhere else sharper, because you know the people behind the comments.
Events and Workshops
Post and give feedback anytime, but the community also runs regular events: portfolio reviews, workshops on topics like forming an LLC or promoting your work on social, and weekly spotlights highlighting the best feedback. There’s always something happening beyond the feedback tool.
Real conversations, not lost in a feed
Every feedback room on Thriveful has its own chatroom. Working on a branding project? The Branding feedback room has a chatroom where people are talking about branding. It’s contextual, not chaotic.
On top of that, there are five community-wide chatrooms for everything else:

9 levels from Initiate to Legendary, earned through consistent contribution. Your rank badge is visible next to your name on every comment and on your profile. No shortcuts, no purchases. Ranks never decrease.
Seasons
Every quarter is a new season. Leaderboards reset, new challenges drop, and the top contributors walk away with permanent badges. Three categories: Crits Given, Comments Made, and Most Liked. Fresh competition, every quarter.
Badges and Awards
Earned, not given. Milestones, streaks, seasonal achievements, and 15 special awards like Night Owl, Perfectionist, and Renaissance Designer. Four rarity levels: Common, Rare, Epic, Legendary. Your collection tells the story of how you’ve shown up.

Follow designers whose work you care about. Your feed filters to show their posts, their progress, and when they need feedback. Hover over any username for a quick profile preview: rank, bio, recent work.
